General:
The Port Dock Brewery Hotel at Port Adelaide is one of three pub-breweries to have come into operation in the South Australian capital in 1986, a landmark year for the craft brewing industry in that state. It is the only one of those three that remains in operation. The two-storey stone pub was built in the early 1880s, and lost its licence in 1909. In the 1980s the then derelict building was restored and relicensed, and a small brewery was installed.
