General:
Housed in the historic buildings of the original Goulburn Brewery,
which operated from the 1830s until 1929. The present brewery commenced
production in 1990, and began bottling its product in November 1996.
Hotel style accomodation is available in the restored brewer's cottage
and workers' cottages. Conducted tours of the brewery and tastings are
held every Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Beers:
Goulburn beers are brewed by the top-fermentation process, in open-top vessels. No sugar or preservatives are used. There is no artificial carbonation. The ingredients are barley malt, ale yeast, and the local water. The two ales (but not the stout) are brewed with a small amount of hops.
