General:
Emerald Hill Brewery was founded in 2005 by Carl Jacobson, supported by a group of friends, family and workmates. It is situated in a transformed industrial warehouse just off Clarendon Street in South Melbourne. The brewery started production in April 2006, and has a brewlength of 1200 litres. Beers are available on tap at the brewery every Friday night from 5pm. Bottled product will be available from September/October 2006.
Beers:
- Emerald Hill Wheat (5.2% abv)
This beer, a German-style Hefeweizen, has subtle banana and clove-like flavours, complemented by a lightly hopped finish. The cloudy appearance is typical of the style.
- Emerald Hill Pale (5.2% abv)
Made from Australian barley and English hops, this beer has spicy hop flavours complemented by a clean malt flavour and a crisp and characteristically bitter finish. A thirst-quenching ale for true beer aficionados.
