General:
Murray's Craft Brewing Company is situated at the famous Pub With No Beer at Taylor's Arm, a relaxing half-an-hour's drive west of Macksville on the NSW Mid-North Coast. Brewing commenced at the end of 2005, using a 1200 litre Czech-built system. Brewer Graeme Mahy, a New Zealander with a passion for Belgian beers, currently produces a range of five beers (see below). After less than a year in operation, the brewery is already being expanded to facilitate an extended range and the introduction of bottled product.
Beers:
Beers:
- Murray's Sunrise Wheat Beer (4.5% abv)
This filtered wheat beer is made from malted and unmalted grains, and a touch of honey, spiced with coriander and orange peel. It is based loosely on the traditional Belgian Wit beer style.
- Murray's Nirvana Pale Ale (4.5% abv)
A golden-coloured pale ale with a fresh spicey/citrusy aroma and flavour, balanced with biscuity/toffee flavours from the malt. Generous quantities of New Zealand grown Cascade and Hallertau hops are used.
- Murray's Swinging Arm Dark Ale (4.5% abv)
A traditional porter style, made with roasted malts. Full-bodied, rich and complex.
- Murray's Icon 2IPA (7.5% abv)
Made in the American IPA style, this beer is heavily hopped to produce intense characters in the flavour and aroma.
- Murray's Grand Cru (8.8% abv)
In the style of a Belgian Trippel, this beer is made with an authentic Belgian yeast, and dry-hopped with Hallertau hops.
